- 500 gr flour
- 30 cL water
- 8 cL oil
- 10 gr baker's yeast
- 12 gr of salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 pinch of coarse salt
- 2 tablespoons dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- 1 tablespoon rosemary
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, instant dried yeast and herbs.
- Add the lukewarm water and olive oil and stir until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Leave the dough to rest in a warm, dry place for about an hour, or until it doubles in volume.
- Preheat your oven to 220°C and grease an ovenproof dish with olive oil.
- Once the dough has doubled in volume, roll it out in the ovenproof dish.
- Drizzle the dough with olive oil and lightly press your fingers into the dough to create small holes.
- Sprinkle the dough with a little extra salt and a few herbs for added flavor.
- Place the focaccia in the oven for about 20 minutes, or until golden and crisp.
- Remove the focaccia from the oven and leave to cool for a few minutes before cutting into pieces.
- Serve warm or at room temperature, as you prefer.
Notes
You can knead in a food processor, which works very well.
