My all-purpose vinaigrette

I'm not a big fan of buying ready-made salad dressings from the grocery store. You never know what's in them, and you never know if there's enough left. That's why, over time, I've developed a super-easy-to-make recipe that works for almost any recipe: my go-anywhere vinaigrette.

You don't need many ingredients to make it, and the steps are easy: just mix everything together in a bowl. No need to wonder when you're eating a good salad, just take two extra minutes to make a little vinaigrette and you're done.

You can, of course, adapt it to your own tastes and what you have on hand. Cider vinegar can be replaced by balsamic. Although I personally really like cider vinegar. Maple syrup can be replaced by honey. Lemon juice can also be replaced by lime juice. In short, the key is to maintain the right proportions of oil, vinegar, acid and sugar. You should get a good result. Don't hesitate to add a little salt and pepper for extra seasoning.

All that's left to do is prepare a simple salad of lettuce, tomato and cucumber, and drizzle the vinaigrette all over it.
